PANGKOR ISLAND - After 2-year of designing, communicating with the locals, experimenting and running workshop, IF has finally built a bamboo play hut and opened during Pangkor Island Festival 2017. The play hut shaped like a fish, sitting in the field of Hwa Lian School, works as a play and learn space, serves the school children and local community.

IF Bamboo Play Hut is part of the Hua Lian School public space projects. It is a community-engaged programme where local community is invited to take part in the initial design vision development. During Pangkor Island Festival 2015, Think Cloud and its team - IF, installed a tent structure named ‘Dream Catcher’, associated with street furniture made of local reclaimed materials i.e. scaffolding, fishing net and buoys, to conduct survey, dialogues and forums with the local.
The born of IF Bamboo Play Hut advocates outdoor learning and encourages interaction among school kids, teachers and public space users.
Team IF was founded in 2015, to involve in public space projects on volunteer basis. It comprises passionate individuals from architecture, interior design, engineering, construction and finance sectors. To date, there are more than 20 members, led by Think cloud Design Lab.
IF conveys the meaning of ‘possibilities’ which continues to inspire the team to explore and go further in building design and to believe in the many possibilities of an architecture where human and space collide.
